I am an internationally active illustrator, children’s author, and qualified architect, specialising in visual storytelling for young audiences. Based in the United Kingdom and originally from Sri Lanka, my practice reflects a cross-cultural perspective shaped by global collaboration. I combine traditional and digital techniques to create expressive, culturally rich narratives that communicate emotion, imagination, and meaning—often without reliance on words. I work across a range of illustration styles, adapting my visual language to suit diverse stories and audiences.
As a published children’s book author and illustrator, I have illustrated nearly 30 books for authors across the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, and beyond. My work positions storytelling as a tool for education, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and inclusive access to visual narratives for children from diverse backgrounds.
Alongside my publishing practice, I actively engage with local communities through creative workshops and storytelling sessions in libraries and community spaces. Through this work, I support children in developing confidence, imagination, and a meaningful connection to the arts.
With a background in architecture, I bring a structured and considered approach to composition and visual communication, approaching illustration as both an art form and a designed experience.
Looking ahead, I aim to expand my body of published work while deepening collaborations with educational and cultural organisations. Through this, I seek to contribute to the creative sector through storytelling, education, and community engagement at both local and international levels.
